After leaving Seyssel, at the border of Ain and Savoie, you'll continue your ride through nature towards Chanaz, the Little Venice of Savoie. Be sure to stop and explore this charming village, the port of departure for a cruise on Lake Bourget, the largest natural lake in France. Hautecombe Abbey overlooks the lake and houses the necropolis of the Princes of Savoy. Back in Chanaz, you'll head toward Belley through the Tunnel du Chat. Wine tastings are available, but please drink in moderation. The stage ends in Belley, the historic capital of Bugey, with monuments testifying to a rich history.
Day 1 : Seyssel - Chanaz
Seyssel: along the Rhône, north of Lake Bourget. You'll meet up with the ViaRhôna at the port. You can take your first break at the Motz recreation area where the Fier River flows into the Rhône. You'll then follow a shared road until Serrières-en-Chautagne. After the village, this stretch of the route crosses one of the largest poplar groves in Europe! You'll then arrive in Chanaz, the "Little Venice of Savoie" via a winding road crossing the Chautagne Plain. Admire the charming lodgings on stilts along the Canal de Savière.

Day 2 : Chanaz - Aix-les-Bains
In Chanaz, you can take your bikes on a boat to Aix-les-Bains. It's a lovely addition to the itinerary. Enjoy a cruise on the Canal de Savière and Lake Bourget, the largest natural lake in France. You'll catch a glimpse of Hautecombe Abbey, which houses the tombs of the illustrious counts of Savoy and the last king and queen of Italy. Around thirty princes and princesses are also buried there. Return to Chanaz to continue the route to Belley.
Day 3 : Aix-les-Bains - Belley
You'll follow the bike path along Lake Bourget. After the lake, the route passes through the Tunnel de Chat, which has a bike lane. Enjoy the magnificent views as you continue along country roads. Try a tasting of Savoy wines around Yenne and the caves of La Balme. The day ends in Belley, the capital of Bugey and the birthplace of the famous gastronome Brillat-Savarin.
