Belley
Almost 40km in length, this cycling loop from Belley, the capital of the Bugey region, gives pride of place to quiet roads and small villages and hamlets with architecture so atypical of this southern part of the Ain département. A favourite playground for the Randonnée des lacs en Bugey, the Gland valley is famous for its winding roads and small villages bordered by lakes and streams.

Cycle route - Vallée du Gland starting from Belley
A cycling loop starting in the historic centre of Belley, just a stone's throw from the Cathedral of Saint Jean-Baptiste, this very easy route has a gradient of 340 metres and covers 39 km. It leaves the small town quickly and easily and follows only lightly-travelled roads.

- In Belley, don't miss the Saint Jean-Baptsite cathedral and the Kario distillery, a producer for over 115 years of beneficial beverages made from a clever blend of plants. Along the way, discover the historic heritage of each village, with its gabled houses, tubs, fountains, wash-houses, communal ovens, chapels and churches. Keep an eye out for the castles of Andert and Beauretour.
